Hand-Drawn Portraits in Pencil

I take the utmost care in creating your portraits by hand with pencil, priding myself in achieving a perfect balance between realism and soul in each one of my drawings. Working closely with my clients, I ensure the final piece is an artwork that you can adorn your wall with pride. Pencil portraits go way beyond what a just a photograph can offer, celebrating the special personality of your companion animal and the loving emotional bond you have with them.

With over 13 years experience, you can place your trust in me to craft a lasting tribute that you will adore for many years to come.

It's All in the Details

Graphite Drawing Grace Murray-Rowley.jpg

I pride myself in taking my time over countless hours to capture the smallest details of your companion animal, whether in graphite or colour. This is what makes my work stand out over other portrait artists. I began drawing pets in graphite at a very young age, inspired by my love of animals.

Graphite portraits give a lovely nostalgic look, whereas coloured pencil portraits can capture the vibrancy and unique colours of your pet. Either choice is a beautiful way to tribute the most important animals in your life.

Using only the finest professional grade artist materials, you can be sure your portrait will not yellow or degrade over a lifetime.

Questions & Answers

  • How much do portraits cost and are there finance options?
My prices start from £340 for a 6x8" drawing, with the price increasing depending on the size of the portrait. For more information, please check out my product pages. Paypal credit options available. Credit and debit cards are accepted. Professional framing prices start from £80. If you have a specific size in mind that is not listed in the options then please Get in Touch and I’d be more than happy to work out a bespoke quote for you.
  • How do I order?
If you would like to commission a pencil portrait then simply purchase through the website today. You will receive a confirmation email that will include information about sending your images to me. If unsure about anything, I’m more than happy to offer my advice and guide you through the process, just get in touch. Or, begin a chat using the chat box in the bottom right hand side.
  • What is the lead time?
I always strive to meet a client’s deadline, but please bear in mind that each pet portrait drawing is very detailed and takes time to complete. If you have a strict deadline like a birthday or a wedding anniversary, please get in touch before ordering so I can confirm whether this will be possible. Lead time can vary based on seasonal peaks in trade and the size and complexity of each piece. I will advise an estimated lead time upon ordering. Current turnaround time is around 2 months from ordering, but if you have a specific deadline, I can try to juggle things around to meet it.
  • How Much is UK & International Delivery?
For unframed portraits, delivery is free of charge to the UK. I use a tracked 1st class service, which will get to you within 24 hours. Tracking information will be available. For framed portraits, I keep my postage costs low for my clients at £10. I use a courier service for larger and framed pieces. International delivery is also available, price calculated at checkout. All pieces are sent flat in protective packaging to eliminate risk of smudging. All portraits will be gift wrapped, whether framed or unframed.
  • Do you frame your portraits?
I offer framing for my portraits, with prices available on the product pages. Professional framing is a service I am proud to offer from my framer Steve who has over 20 years experience, who I work closely with. This means your portrait will arrive with you framed and ready to hang straight away. These frames are made using finest quality museum glass, which offers UV protection and excellent viewing clarity. I can either give my framer his creative freedom to create a frame that compliments your portrait, or I can give him specific requests. I can also send him a photo of the interior of the room that you plan to hang the portrait, so he can match your interior. If you choose to have your portrait delivered unframed, this will allow you to visit your local professional framer who will create a perfect frame for the piece. Frames purchased in shops or online hugely vary in quality, but if you'd prefer to take this route, I'll give you the dimensions needed for the frame/mount of your portrait. "Our wishes for the frame were taken in to account and we couldn’t have asked for anything more fitting for our newly decorated hallway. Would absolutely recommend." Phoebe Lowes
  • Can you create portraits of multiple pets?
Yes, this can result in a wonderful artwork showing the bond between your companion animals. Please see my product pages for prices depending on the amount of animals you'd like included. If you'd like to include more than 4 animals in a portrait, please get in touch for a quote.
  • What can I write on my engraved name plaque?
Engraved name plaques can really finish off a framed portrait beautifully, for those looking for "the whole package". My plaques are made from finely brushed aluminium and are availale in both gold and silve tone. You can either simply have your pet or family's name, or any quotes that may be special to you. Some examples are: "Finley You have left our side, but you will never leave our hearts." "Finley You left a paw print on our hearts." "Our best friend, Finley We miss you" "Finley Part of the family since 2005"
